My time in Nashville for GMA Week was everything I needed and nothing I expected. Funny how often we plan and God rearranges. What I thought would be a week filled with appointments, songwriting, and connecting became a week filled with quiet encouragement, adjustment, peace.
What does that mean? I'm not sure even I know! What I do know is that in the middle of fast-paced, noisy Nashville God spoke quietly to my heart about what's important. Obedience. Humility. Surrender. Worship. I want to be about those things, anda not just casually - with abandon. Especially that last one, worship. This last month I've been wondering what it would look like if I put my energy into music that makes much of God and inspires others to do the same. I want to be about worship, in life and in song!
So since my last trip to music city, I've been focusing on my role as a lead worshipper (as opposed to Christian artist) and I am excited to follow this path as long as God allows. Pray ...

Yahoo, the website is finally letting me blog for the first time! OK, so I know that Megan performed today, and I know that she totally rocked the socks off everyone in Nashville today! GMA watch out, MI is in your hizzz-ouse! (Okay... I know I can't really pull that off, but it was fun to try!)
Just also want to add that I think Megan is truly gifted by God, and a blessing to every single person she comes in contact with, I know that God has blessed me enormously through her insights and time spent with her. And Megan, quit shaking your head as you read this on your shiny new iMac. <grin>

Howdy all! Have you noticed it's November already? It's hard to ignore - what with the temperature dropping along with the leaves. I was reminded today of what shampoo tastes like. That's right - the wind was blowing so hard I couldn't keep my hair from getting in my mouth. At least it was clean.
On Thursday I returned from a short visit to Nashville, TN. I have to say, Autumn in CO is pretty, but nothing beats those rolling hills full of reds, oranges, yellows and greens. Most of the trees here are already bare - in Tennessee, the show's just getting started.
As always, God's goodness and creativity are obvious, and not just in the fall colors. My trip to Nashville renewed my sense of adventure and strengthened my faith in a God who is intimately aware of every detail in my life. I was encouraged, affirmed, motivated, and challenged to make the most of every ...

The thing about megan that always "attracted" me to her was her encouraging smile. She always had a way of making your hectic crapy life seem better. She was always concerned with how you were doing and always said something to take your mind off of the dissapointments of this world, and realize that there is something beyond that.... the ability to lift each other up. Megan always bestowed to me that gift. She made me want to turn around and make other people feel better. That is someting that I will always treasure.

I have to admit I was about ready to kiss my laptop goodbye and toss it out the window last time I tried to blog. My thoughts were deep, my words eloquent and then - all was lost. I still don't know what happened, but I've gathered my courage and I'm ready for another try.
This week has been awesome. I think I'm finally getting the hang of living. Not stressing, not slacking, but living. Yes, I've gotten things done this week - a LOT of things. But I've also reconnected with old friends, some that live out of state and others that live right under my nose. I've relaxed in front of a movie I've been aching to watch for a while. I've spent time getting to know the neighbor upstairs - the one who called the cops on me over the weekend. ;) I've written a couple songs. Amazing how much more beautiful life is when you take the time to look.
So stop toda ...

Well, it's Thurs night and I'm at Starbucks. That's right, just like they wanted, it's my "third place." So as I listen to Macy Grey wailing in the background, I am answering emails, surfing the web and yes, learning to blog.
I'd like to commemerate my first-ever blog with a hearty hip-hip-horray. However, since I'm not sure my coffee-drinking neighbors would consider that an appropriate way to celebrate, I shall refrain.
But please help me celebrate my first blogging experience and this new website by creating a blog yourself. Who knows? We may just start a trend...
